2018 – New year, new me, new home!
Moving house can be an exciting but daunting time. Just when breathe a sigh of relief as you have thrown away the last cardboard box and found a home for your favourite shoes, you then remember that it’s not all over yet and there’s a few admin things you need to complete. Here at urbanbubble we know that these things can be easily forgotten so we have put together a little checklist to help you along the way.
At urbanbubble we strive to ensure that your new home is perfect when you move into it but unfortunately sometimes there is some maintenance issues that require own attention. If you do have any issues to report please use our online system, Fixflo, to report them to us via the link below:
It is a tenant’s responsibility when renting an apartment with us to notify the council about moving into a new address and make the relevant payments as applicable.
If you’re a student then you will not need to pay council tax (subject to hours) but you do still need to contact the council with relevant proof to confirm your studies, so they can make you exempt. If you fail to do this you will receive bills and be liable up until the point you provide this evidence
If you’re a professional, you need to set this up by contacting the council and letting them know that you are in the property. You may be able to apply for a single persons discount but you will need to do this directly through the council.

Across our portfolio the Wi-Fi is included in your rental amount.
If you live at the Artesian, Norfolk House I, Norfolk House II, Parliament Place or Queensland Place your password will be included within your Welcome Pack as well as being displayed in the communal areas around the building.
If you live at Falkner Place or One Wolstenholme Square, then your password will be displayed on the back of your router in the apartment.
The wi-fi managed by Bright Orange who will be able to assist you should you encounter any problems or have any questions about the service. They provide a 24/7 technical support service via their helpline – 0333 102 0010.
If you are lucky enough to live in Artesian, Norfolk House I, Norfolk House II, Parliament Place or Queensland Place then your electricity is included in your rental amount so you do not need to do anything.
However, if you live with us at Falkner Place or One Wolstenholme Square you will be responsible for paying for your electricity. Firstly thing to do is to make sure you take meter readings, if you don’t you may end up paying for services you have not used. To gain access to the meters please contact the Community Manager of your building whose contact details will be Welcome Pack you receive upon move in.
Please note, there is no gas supply to the apartments within our portfolio.
Across our portfolio the water is included in your rental amount so this is one thing you do not need to worry about setting up.
The responsibility of paying for a TV licence sits with the tenant of a property. More information about the TV licence and how to pay it can be found at www.tvlicensing.co.uk.
Your landlord is responsible for insuring the building and their possessions but we recommend all tenants to take our contents insurance for their belongings
Dentist & Doctors
Now you have moved into your new home we would recommend you register with a local Doctor and Dentist, for more information on this, please consult the NHS website www.nhs.co.uk.
Please ensure that rubbish is disposed of in the communal bin store, located on the ground floor. Please ensure you are putting the correct rubbish in the correct bin, ensuring recycling bins are not contaminated.
